1996 Signed Janet Utts East Aurora NY Multi-Ethnic "Little Girl" Crib/wall Quilt

Up for sale is a magnificent, beautifully preserved contemporary folk art quilt crafted in 1996 by Western New York author, librarian, and artisan Janet Utts of East Aurora, NY.  This piece presents a beautiful, highly unique applique pattern featuring sweet storybook-style girls designed to celebrate diversity. The artisan intentionally showcased inclusivity by rendering the girl figures with a rich array of multi-ethnic skin tones and uniquely stylized hair textures.  The entire reverse side is made from a wonderful coordinating Raggedy Ann character print fabric, making this piece fully reversible! The backing features an intact handwritten fabric presentation label that reads: ~ Kate ~ The Little Girl in me to The Little Girl in you. Janet Utts East Aurora NY 1996.
